Data Governance consultant

At Timestamp, we are looking for a freelance Data Governance consultant for our client JTI (Japan Tobacco International) in the Marketing and Sales area, to join a strategic Data Governance project throughout 2026.

Responsibilities

• Design the data organisational structure based on the business processes defined at JTI.

• Define and clarify the roles of Data Owners and Data Stewards, including the need for local and/or regional stewards.

• Onboard and support people in data governance roles (Owners, Stewards).

• Establish the ARCI model related to data management.

• Define, together with Data Owners and Stewards, data quality processes and metrics.

• Train the business in the use of Data Catalog and Data Quality tools, providing functional and technical support.

• Activate data quality processes as part of business processes.

• Lead and energise Data Committees (currently not initiated in most projects).

Required profile

• Solid experience in Data Governance, especially in Marketing and Sales environments.

• Knowledge of data role definition, data quality and operational models.

• Experience working with Data Catalog and Data Quality tools.

• Ability to work with the business and facilitate the adoption of new processes.

• Leadership, communication and committee management skills.
