Timestamp Golf Tour crowns Tomás Bessa and Ricardo Melo Gouveia in Troia

Troia hosted the third stage of the Timestamp Golf Tour 2025, with Tomás Bessa winning the National Professional Championship and Ricardo Melo Gouveia taking the Pro-Am title.

The National Professional Championship, the third stage of the Timestamp Golf Tour 2025, was held from 24 to 26 July at the iconic Troia Golf. The event saw Tomás Bessa crowned National Professional Champion and marked the winning return of Ricardo Melo Gouveia in the Timestamp Pro-Am.

Tomás Bessa claims second national title

After rounds of 65, 67 and 72 strokes, Tomás Bessa finished the tournament with a total score of -12, matching his 2020 result and securing his second national title. The win also marks his return to top-level competition after a long injury break.

“Playing again a year later and becoming national champion is truly special. I’m very, very happy,” said the visibly moved athlete.

Pedro Lencart delivered a historic round of 63 (-9), setting the best-ever score at Troia and finishing second. Tomás Melo Gouveia completed the podium at -6.

Sérgio Couto triumphs in the Senior category

The championship also featured the return of competition in the Senior category. Sérgio Couto, coach at Vale Pisão, secured the title with a total of 144 strokes (Par), 23 years after winning the national pairs title.

“Becoming national champion again means a lot. Hard work pays off,” said the 51-year-old player.

Ricardo Melo Gouveia shines at the Timestamp Pro-Am

Closing the tournament, the Timestamp Pro-Am brought together professionals and guests for a moment of competition and connection. Ricardo Melo Gouveia, Portugal’s number one and a member of the DP World Tour, led the winning team alongside actor Lourenço Ortigão and entrepreneurs Duarte Almeida Costa and Manuel Mendes de Almeida.

“I had an amazing team. Winning was just the cherry on top,” said the Olympic athlete.

The award ceremony featured highlights from Tomás Bessa, Sérgio Couto and the Pro-Am participants, reinforcing the sense of community and recognition of national talent that defines the Timestamp Golf Tour.
